WEB FARM

With WEB FARM, INTESA puts at of the disposal of customers its skills and resources either for designing the Web applications (whether these are simple static pages or more complex applications, perhaps integrated with existing applications) or for housing them in a controlled and secure environment.
In its WEB FARM services offer, INTESA is entrusted with operative management which includes the aspects of security, user support, supervision of the delivery platform and connections on a wide area network, whereas the customer is responsible for the handling and administration of the application aspects

The Web Farm service is used to host and manage customers applications.

Business requirements Firms in the manufacturing sector that wish to optimize the Supply Chain processes via the activation of an internet connection with their suppliers to manage the exchange of electronic documents.
(This proposal is mainly to be offered to firms that already have an integrated EDI interface).
Description

The service allows firms (Trading Partners) that operate as suppliers of a manufacturing firm (Sponsor) to access a host of application services through an ordinary Web browser. The Sponsor firm accesses the service through a sure network connection (Internet or Extranet) between the legacy or ERP application environment and the INTESA platform.
The main benefits of the solution for the customer are:

  • Efficiency and effectiveness in management of the Supply Chain processes
  • Consolidation of the Company/Supplier relationship
  • Optimization of communications on the Web, safeguarding already existing EDI investments
  • Simple access to the services through a standard Web browser
  • Possibility of exchanging messages in proprietary formats
Details about the solution

The users can access the solution in Front Office mode (the services and application functions are activated at the explicit request of the users in a menu of possible choices and options) or in Back Office mode (application functions generally not activated by the user, but which supply the full range of services to support operativity of the platform).

Examples of Front Office application functions:

  • User identification and connection to the service
  • User profile management
  • View and print forms
  • Controlled entry and acquisition of information through data entry
  • Upload e download di documenti.

Back Office functions:

  • Interface with the Sponsor firm's application systems
  • Saving and filing of documents exchanged
  • Document format conversion
  • Handling and validation of the interchange relationships
  • Tracking and auditing of operations and events
  • Recording of the service charge units.

Also included are customization activities, to be assessed case by case, for adaptation of some of the INTESA default formats and layouts.

Requirements

For the Sponsor firm: application platform (legacy or ERP) able to transmit/receive messages in EDI or flat EDI format.

For the supplier (Trading Partner): Standard Web Browser; Adobe Acrobat Reader (for viewing and printing of documents).
