Turin, 11 April 2022<\/strong> \u2013 Intesa, a Kyndryl Company, a company that has worked in qualified services for over 30 years and is accredited as a Certification Authority, has obtained another important authorization from the Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale (AgID, Italy’s national digital agency): consent to integrate recognition via the Italian Electronic Identity Card (CIE)<\/strong> into its own services, as an accredited service provider. The authorization comes just a few months after accreditation as an SPID service provider.<\/p>\n Intesa will thus become one of the very first private companies to offer services accessible via CIE: to date, in fact, there are only 4 private CIE service providers against 27.5 million CIE cards issued<\/strong>. Moreover, currently only 8.3% of users, according to data from the Digital Identity Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, already regularly use CIE to access online services.<\/p>\n “We expect the percentage of users who regularly use CIE to increase significantly over the coming months and years. This means that Intesa will not only be among the very first CIE service providers, but will also be able to get ahead of the pace of change. Integrating the CIE identification system into our services will give more and more users fast and secure access. A great achievement,” says Giuseppe Mariani, General Manager of the company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Integrating CIE into its proprietary solutions will indeed make it possible to further simplify identification for the delivery of Intesa’s services, reaching an even broader audience of users. According to Matteo Panfilo, Chief Solution Officer at Intesa<\/strong>: “This authorization for Intesa comes at a time of great attention toward CIE, which we expect could see important developments in the near future, both in terms of user experience and authentication methods \u2013 mobile and desktop \u2013 and in terms of the new possibilities offered by this tool, which in the coming years will be in the hands of every Italian citizen. This identification method adds to the onboarding methods that Intesa already offers its clients, further strengthening and completing its offering.”<\/p>\n “Another aspect not to be underestimated in the evolution of CIE is its integration with the Anagrafe Nazionale della Popolazione Residente (ANPR, Italy’s National Registry of the Resident Population),” Matteo Panfilo continues. “This feature is a first step toward integration with constantly updated national databases, which could make security checks on the use of the document even easier.”<\/p>\n The potential of CIE will in all likelihood be further enhanced in the near future.
