Intesa, a Kyndryl Company, has joined the Cloud Signature Consortium

Turin, 18th April 2024 – Intesa, a Kyndryl Company, one of the leading providers of digital trust services and Qualified Trust Service Providers, has joined the Cloud Signature Consortium, a global consortium of industrial, governmental, and academic organizations committed to promoting the standardization of highly secure and compliant digital signatures in the cloud.

The consortium’s goal is to enable signature service providers to more quickly implement transaction management platforms based on web apps or mobile applications, as well as to provide a simplified digital signature experience by eliminating the need to install drivers or use smart cards or tokens.

Joining the Cloud Signature Consortium will allow Intesa to further align electronic signature solutions with the most widely used technical specifications for cloud services internationally, with the aim of promoting international interoperability and ensuring regulatory compliance and cybersecurity.

The common technical specification developed by the Cloud Signature Consortium is inspired by and references the requirements of the eIDAS regulation – whose revision was officially approved in March 2024 – to streamline the interoperability of solutions and facilitate compliance with electronic signature regulations. The uniform adoption of cloud-based digital signatures worldwide will contribute to the digital transformation of businesses on a global scale.

“The membership in the Cloud Signature Consortium represents a fundamental step in our journey towards greater international interoperability in the digital signature experience,” commented Giuseppe Mariani, General Manager of Intesa. “Thanks to our work with the consortium, we will be able to contribute to the development of the international market for cloud-based signature services, an important opportunity to increase compliance and security for our clients’ processes.”

Simone Baldini, Head of CA & DTM Solutions at Intesa, added: “Intesa is a significant Italian QTSP and provides nearly 2 billion remote signatures annually. We are present at national and international working tables with decision-makers for the continuous innovation of trust services. Joining the Cloud Signature Consortium further aligns with this direction and will help us both share our vision and promote the adoption of digital signature solutions.”
