What is Intesa CMS?

Intesa CMS (Certificate Management System) is a complete and modular platform for managing the entire lifecycle of a qualified digital certificate — from the initial request to issuance, through to suspension or revocation.

Management can be centralized or delegated to third parties through a mandate agreement, allowing the client to operate as an LRA – Local Registration Authority, that is, an entity authorized to identify individuals on behalf of Intesa.

Moreover, thanks to integration with Intesa ID, user identification is seamless, allowing the most suitable method to be chosen based on the specific use context.

How does it work?

Intesa CMS supports two operational modes:

  • Remote identification: the operator, known as RAO (Registration Authority Officer), enters the initial data; the identification is then completed by the user via SPID, CIE, or video recognition.
  • Full issuance:the RAO carries out the entire process, including in-person identification or qualified electronic signature, and the end user only selects the certificate PIN.

If the company operates as an LRA, its RAOs are trained and authorized by Intesa to carry out the identification independently, in accordance with the procedures defined in the Operational Manual.
